Being asked so many times, “Why can’t you paint pretty pictures?”
Artists Erin Loree, Marc O'Brien and Sarah Elizabeth McCaw toy with the
notion of what their “ugly” work would look like in “grandmother’s
"Something for Your Mantel" is an installation that
assumes a ghost image of a warm and familiar home and dips it in the
sleek but often sterile aesthetic of a gallery space. The works featured
in the installation will encourage the viewer to consider who makes art
and where it belongs.
free-standing structure will be exhibited on July 21st and 22nd at the
Big on Bloor Festival (between Dufferin and Lansdowne). The project is
being created on behalf of the OCADU Alumni Association. We are
